Solar Powered

So my new favorite thing to learn about is the solar system. It all stemmed from the dinosaurs, since the meteor brought them to their ultimate demise. I was pretty curious about this meteor, so mom ordered some books for me about the solar system. I also really want a rocket ship, but mom says I don't have enough $$ in my purse, so I told Dad he needs to work harder. He didn't think that was very funny. My favorite planet is Mars because it is so pretty and red. And then their are the potential alien life forms to imagine about. All these things make space a pretty cool place! Here I am with my latest drawing of the solar system. I'm sporting my ARMY shirt to wish Uncle Adam good luck. He is headed off to North Carolina soon to try out for the Green Berets. He has to spend 24 days there and can't have ANY contact with anyone or the outside world. Good luck Uncle Adam! I really don't like this weather. Zach and I are both better, but we're kind of stuck inside today. I think we'll do some Easter projects later.

have a good weekend!

Caught One!

We *finally* caught Zach smiling on camera this morning. Either our camera is too slow or he smiles too fast, because it sure took long to get one that worked! It has been a bummer of a week around here. I am STILL coughing, but I do feel a bit better. Zach started with a low fever the other night and because he is so little, the doctor had us bring him to the hospital for some blood and urine tests. We knew it was just a cold, but we had to make sure nothing bigger was going on. Everything came back fine and he is better now. It was not a fun experience though and mom doesn't EVER want to go back to work and poke little babies like that. Fortunately, the doctor did not make him have a spinal tap and IV antibiotics, because that is normally what they would do. He had his 2mo appt yesterday and everything else looked fine. He is just shy of 10lbs and has his tummy issues under better control now. I am going to try to go to school today because it is my turn to bring snack and I think I'm driving mom a little batty. I better go get cleaned up. Sorry no pics of me, maybe later!

The 80's called....

And sadly someone answered.

Look what we found when we were cleaning out the storage totes this weekend! You guys sure were silly looking!

Why so grumpy, Tara?

Was I really that tiny too?

Before everyone goes spouting off how cute my baby brother is, don't forget that I was that cute too! Some even say I still am. I had a little more chub to me at 8 weeks old, but Zach is catching up quickly. He's already getting a reputation around here as having his mom's trademarked "eyebrow scowl". It is pretty funny when he can turn that into a smile so quickly. He has been flashing a few more smiles lately, but none caught on camera yet. We bought a playmat-gym for him last week and he really likes that. I have been sick since Saturday, so that is no fun! But I still managed to have a good weekend. I helped dad clean out the garage and move all our stuff into the storage area in the basement. He was so happy to have his 3rd stall cleaned out, but not very happy to see it filled up with an assortment of strollers, bikes, trikes and kid stuff! Oh well dad, we won't really need that space till you buy me a car for my 16th birthday, right?

Have a good Monday. I hope I feel better tomorrow and am in the mood for pictures because I wasn't today!

Buy her some dollies, they said....

So I did. A really cute little doll with several matching outfits and accessories. And who wears this fine fashion you ask? Why none other than Monsieur Parasauralophus; sporting the latest in pink-hoodie fashions. He's not afraid of his metrosexual tendancies.

I tried. I really did! But you can't stop dinosaur love, and we think that's GREAT!

I've Got Friends in Cold Places

Hey there. I had a great little visit with my pals Ryan and Leah. It felt like the tropics to them compared to the ice-cold Fargo area. We had FUN-due with them and I loved to play with them -- even if Ryan freaked me out with his hairy belly. I guess them northerners have to evolve for the climate! The rest of the weekend was quiet. I spent a little Quality Time with mom and played outside a bit too. This week is going well. I love this nice weather and I am SO excited for spring. Zach is hanging in there. He is now 9lbs 5oz and flashed mom a real, huge, genuine smile today! Unfortunately, it was short lived when mom screamed with excitement and made him cry. Way to go, mom! He discovered his hands this week and has fun checking them out. He's still struggling with some tummy-issues, but we're hoping he will feel better soon. I better scoot off to bed. Have a great week and HAPPY SPRING!

I grant you the gift of ME

No more flash bulbs, please!

Does John Deere Make Them in Pink?

By the looks of this article, I will need a tractor before I can start high school. I guess kids around here get Diesels for their 16th birthdays rather than Dodges. Seriously. This is where I live.

In other news, mom finally got a couple decent pics of Zach to share. Hopefully that will calm the masses for now. Not much else new. Just waiting for Ryan & Leah to join us for a night of fabulous fondue!

See you!

Les Dinos are taking over La Tower!

There's nothing I love to do more on a nice, sunny day than taking the dinos outside and seizing the Eiffel Tower on the deck. The dinos like it, too -- The French -- well, not so much.

Things are going well here! I love this weather and hopefully we can play outside at school today. As you can see, I got a new "do". It is a lot cleaner cut and easier to take care of. My hair is too fine to stay in a ponytail anyway and this stays out of my face a lot better. I had a good weekend and we finally got all of my toys moved down to the new basement. As you can see, it turned out pretty well! It is always a mess, but that is what it is there for. Mom and Dad are thrilled to have it done, although Dad is not exactly thrilled about having to move a gazillion totes from the garage down to the basement. Nothing like a little spring cleaning to get you in the mood.

Zach saw the doctor last week and weighed in at 8lbs 8oz, so he is now 2lbs above his birth weight and now weighs what I did when I was born -- what a shrimp! He is doing ok and is working on his smirking skills. He is still dealing with some belly aches, but they seem to be getting better. He is not a fan of his carseat, so it looks like we won't be making a trip up to WI till Easter at the earliest.

Ryan and Leah are coming to see us Thursday, so I am super excited for that. Hope you are having a great week.

Where's MY Fairy Godmother??

I watched Cinderella last week and thought maybe if I did a little cleaning around here, I would get to dress up and go to a ball. So I scrubbed and I swept, but alas, no fairy godmother to be found! Oh well, I like to help clean anyway. The new sweeper-vac is just my size and I like to be responsible and clean up my mess after lunch. I had a nice visit with my family this past weekend. Too bad they could only stay for the day, but the day was better than nothing at all. I think we're just hanging out here this coming weekend and moving stuff down to the new basement. I've been asking mom everyday when spring is coming, I sure hope it shows up soon!

Zach is doing well and cooing a little bit. He hasn't let out the big smile just yet, but as you can see, it is right on the surface. He's still a little fussy during the day with belly aches, but he's alert a lot more during the day and goes right to sleep after eating during the night for mom.

Hope you're having a fantabulous week!

Say Hello to Mr Thirsty

Hi there! I had an outstanding first visit to the dentist. NO cavities and she said my teeth look great! I did so well, if I do say so myself. I let her scrape my teeth, polish them and even held still for the flouride treatment. I really like the little suction tool called Mr Thirsty and she let me hold him and suck out my own spit -- awesome! For being such a good girl, I got a new toothbrush, toothpaste and a coupon for McDonalds AND a prize from the prize box. I can't wait to go again! Our cool new stroller came in the mail the other day. There is a spot for Zach and a spot for me to sit or stand in case I get tired of walking. Mom and Dad really didn't want to get a double stroller, but it is no big secret that I don't like to walk very far, so this should be a good solution. Hopefully, the weather warms up and we can walk outside soon. In the meantime, I think mom is going to try to take us both to the mall tomorrow -- yikes!

I am really having fun playing with Zach lately. He loves to watch me and I think he is saving his first smile just for me!
