Lea-vin, on a jet plane...

Hey all. I just thought I'd say hi. It is 8pm here and I'll be going to bed soon. We have to leave the house by 5am to get to the airport on time. Wish us luck! We'll be spending the first few days at Nana Vicki's, then we'll go stay with Leah in for a few days. Then we go to Grandma D's for the weekend. Everything is up in the air after that! We stay until the 20th, so hopefully that will be enough time to do all the stuff we need to do.

Catch ya on the other side of the Atlantic!

Is there a bowling "gene"?

I absolutely HAD to have this toy at the store yesterday. And then I said "I go bowl JUST like Nana Vicki". So I spent lots of time outside, mastering the sport. Then it got cloudy and I said "OH NO, rain on bowling make Nana Vicki SOOOO sad!". Who knew? Looks like I am destined to become a bowler, they said the gene skips a generation.

Maybe we can do a little bumper bowling back home...if they make balls that light!

Tick-toc-tick-toc-tic-toc

I'm just swingin' around, killing time until we can come back! Mom and I made a calender for this week and everyday we cross the day off and count down how many days we have left. I ask about it EVERY day! I am very excited to fly on the plane and see everyone. Mom is excited to find a house. There is a lot on the market right now and the realtor has lots for her to look at so hopefully one of them is the right one. The weather here has been great and I've been playing outside a lot. Hope you are all doing well, see you SOON!

You Say its Your Birthday...da nah nah da nah

Hi Everyone. Yesterday was Daddy's birthday. He's just a year shy of 30 now! Mommy felt bad because we were so busy that she forgot to make his cake, but she will do it today instead. They went out for a nice dinner and I had my first real babysitter come over! Her name was Jenny and she was SO much fun. We played outside and I was a very good girl for her. I was looking pretty cute yesterday in my outift from Grandma D.

Here is what the menu was at the restaurant they went to with Addie's parents. Mom wants to write it down so she doesn't forget and thought it would be fun to share it with you all to see what a french menu looks like. Each course was served separately and immediately after the previous one was finished. It was pretty amazing how everything was coordinated.

Bon weekend!

Menu for Alan's birthday:

1. Celery and apple puree drink
2. Diced celery with oil and truffles served in spoons
3. Rhubarb with nut powder
4. Radish puree
5. Fried oysters with oyster soup
6. Yogurt with tomato
7. Sea scallops
8. Urchin soup
9. Chicken fois gras (liver fat)
10. Sea bass with potato
11. Guinea fowl
12. Artichoke soup
13. Lamb with carmelized endives
14. Cheese course
15. Chocolate crips with strawberries and yogurt
16. Assortment of fruit purees and creams
17. Small biscuit with chartreuse cream
18. Plate of small chocolate, toffee and desserts
19. Coffee
White and red wines

Mommy and daddy won't be able to eat for a week and probably can't afford to buy me clothes anymore, but they said it was worth it!

Take a Hike!

Hi. Daddy had the day off yesterday. They don't get Good Friday off here, but the Monday after Easter instead. We took a hike with Ben and his daddy. We went all the way up to a refuge that was just over an hour from our house. We had a picnic up there and played by the pond. It was REALLY chilly up there, so mom had to bundle me up for the way down. I slept the whole way down in the backpack. It was a great adventure and I'm so lucky that daddy is willing to carry me all the way up. Less than 2 weeks and we'll be home...yay! See you later.

A Recap...

So going backwards, here was my weekend....

Saturday we colored eggs and decorated carrot cupcakes for the next day. Daddy and I put together my new swingset and worked on it all the way till dark!

And then the next morning...the Easter Bunny left lots of eggs for me to find both inside and outside. Ben and Gabi came over to help find the outside eggs. Then we had a nice Easter dinner, played and had dessert. Then we all took a BIG nap! Hope you had a nice day too!

To all my Peeps....

Happy Easter!!!

Spanish Turtles - Ole!

I forgot to tell you all that I get to turtle-sit for a few days. My friends Mara and Carsten are going to Italy for Violin Camp, so I am watching their turtles, "Tortie" & "Scape". Boy oh boy are these guys cool. They came from Barcelona, so I can speak Spanish to them. I have spent about an hour just watching them crawl around. I even got to help feed them. So happy Turtle-Tuesday to you!

Is this the one they call 'Scape? Cause he's making a break for it!

Monday Matinee

If you don't get Easter Cards this year, it is because I am refusing to put on the bunny ears and cooperate for a picture. But mom will keep trying.

Here is a little video today. We had a special treat for lunch (if you can call it that)...Mac n' Cheese imported from the States. Exciting stuff!

Stalag-TITE or Stalag-MITE?

We had a fun day trip yesterday. We went to some caves in a town called Correnche. It was about an hour drive there. The caves were over 60,000 years old. There were neat waterfalls and lakes inside the cave. Afterwards, we hiked around and got some fresh air. Later that night we had dinner at Ben & Gabi's house. Today is just a rainy, relaxing day to lay around! ~Katherine

Random Wednesday

Here are some pics from the past week. Mommy and I will be back April 30th-May 20th. A lot of that time will be spent househunting, although I may stay back with one of my grandmas for awhile. I'll leave the boring stuff to mommy!

Happy Wednesday. Katherine

Scratch-N-Sniff

Here I am with mommy's new calla lily plant. One of the few cheap things in France are flowers, so we try to keep fresh ones around all the time. These cost about the equivilant of a nasty bunch of carnations from back home. Mommy was pretty happy since callas are her favorite. I had a good weekend. I went to my friend's house Saturday night while mommy and daddy hosted a wine & cheese tasting. On Sunday, we went to the garden store and downtown for pizza. I had a good day at school and I was SO happy to get my big Easter package from Nana Vicki. She sent puzzles, books, clothes, stickers, shoes, candy, coffee (for mom!), and a present for Daddy who's birthday is coming up in a few weeks. Have a good Monday! ~Katherine
