Mon Arbre de Noel

Tonight, we put up my very own little, pink, fabulous Christmas tree. Mommy felt bad that we don't decorate here (since we always fly back), so we decided just a little tree would be enough to get us in the Christmas spirit. I helped pick out the decorations; magenta tinsel and pink and orange foily thingys! It is quite the tree. My mommy's computer died and we lost all of our Christmas songs and a lot of photos. Hopefully, daddy will get it working soon. Until then, mommy gets to use daddy's laptop, hooray! We have gotten lots more snow here. I had to miss school today because we couldn't get out of the driveway. I like the snow, but I get stuck a lot trying to walk in it!

Dog Sitting

Hi! I was so excited to wake up from my nap and find Maddie the Dog here. Her family is on vacation for 3 days and mommy decided it was too cold to leave her out, so she is shacking up with us for a few days. She is very nice, even if she looks big and scary. I like to lay down with her and read to her, but she just sleeps most of the time. Later, we are going to buy her a big bone and some toys.

Time to go take care of my dog! Katherine

Snow Much Fun!

Hi! I had a great Thanksgiving. We went to the Baker's and had lots of good food and fun. I was so excited to wake up and see SO MUCH SNOW this morning! I had fun playing in it, even if I wasn't too sure about it at first. Daddy took today off, and we had lots of fun. I liked watching him and mommy get in a snowball fight...daddy always wins. Mommy sure wishes she was back home hitting all the sales today, but there's always internet shopping!

Turkey Huntin'

Hi. Me and Tad the frog are going Turkey Huntin'. I've been practicing my gobbley turkey call. We're having Thanksgiving dinner at the Baker's tomorrow night. My daddy has to work, so we're doing it in the evening. Can you believe it is not a Holiday here in France? Go figure!

Happy Thanksgiving -already??

Hi. Last night we had a huge Thanksgiving dinner with all the CAT families at the CAT plant in Grenoble. There were over 80 people there, it was nuts! It was fun to have "real" thanksgiving food, although I ruined my appetite with snacks (like Daddy) and still had room for dessert (like Mommy). I had the most fun running around with the big kids and playing. Everything else is going fine. It is chilly here and supposed to snow soon, hooray!

Coming soon to a Christmas Card near you

Here are some of our photos from October. The photographer brought them by last night. Thanks for the cool threads Aunt Debbie.

Magnet Magic

Hi all. I just love this toy my aunt Corrie got for me while she was here. It is a magnet board with shapes. I did this all by myself. I made a house, a tree and some stars and a moon. Mommy likes to make stuff too, but I don't let her take a turn because it is so much fun. I had a good time at school Monday, I did lots of arts and crafts. We've got a big Thanksgiving celebration coming up Saturday with all the CAT families. I think it will be lots of fun and I'm excited to eat real American food! I played at the Wilhelm's house last night. They have three girls that are 8, 10 and 12. I really like them and they show me lots of fun things to do. I am so lucky to have so many friends here. A bientot! ~Katherine

Adventures of a Daddy in France?

Well, I think I should hand this blog over to my daddy since he is the one having all of the adventures lately. He hiked again today and found a really cool lake up in the mountains...he even got close to some snow. The hike is too dangerous for me to ride along in the backpack, so mommy and I have to stay home (I didn't hear mommy complaining too much). Here is a picture of him at the lake. He is pretty handy with that self-timer on the camera. My mommy calls this his "senior picture" pose....I don't get it. I didn't do a whole lot today. Tonight, I decided to have a birthday party for my baby doll. I sung to her, fed her cake and even let her open a present, but it was really one of my toys. I really love birthdays, even when they are not my own!

Where I live

My daddy went on a REALLY long hike the other day (he made it to Chamrousse, Aunt Corrie!). He took some cool pictures of where we live. The first one is taken from the top of the ski resort, looking down on the clouds. The second is our village from the same viewpoint. The third is zooming in on Grenoble, but it is hard to see through the pollution. The fourth is me just being plain silly. Bon weekend!

The Good Ol' Days

Tonight I found my old bathtub. Mommy is letting someone borrow it, so she had it sitting out. Man, those were the days...kicking back, getting a sponge bath and never getting cold. I decided to hang out in it for awhile and brush my teeth. I thought it was a potty at first, but then I remembered that just because I used to pee in it, doesn't mean it is a potty. I had a good day, not much new. Just hanging with my mom and going to school like usual. Daddy has tomorrow off, so maybe if the weather is nice, we'll do something fun. I think the snow is coming soon...it is getting chilly and the mountain above us is getting a dusting. I'm off to bed....lates!

Wrinkles and Wishes

Hi! Not a whole lot going on here. Mommy and I have had a pretty quiet week, which is nice! Here I am with the birthday card that Daddy and I made for Mommy. We sung to her this morning and gave her lots of kisses. I wanted to get her a jar of wrinkle cream, but the size she needed was too heavy! Hee...hee.... I think she'll have a great birthday and maybe we'll eat cake tonight. Just to also let you know not to worry about us over here. Some people have asked about the bad stuff happening in France, but it is not the French, just the immigrants. My mommy says that there have been a few riots here and 70 cars burned, but nothing to put us in danger. We live up high in the mountains and we are very safe! Happy Wednesday! Love Katherine

Fete de Hallo-weenie

Hi. Boy, did I have fun last night. I went to a Halloween party for the CAT kids. A lot of families were back in the States over Halloween, so we got together last night instead. I roasted weenies and marshmallows and had my FIRST s'more....it was so good I wanted smore! Ha, ha, ha. All my best buddies were there; Addie, Ben, Gabi, Mara and the Wilhelm girls. My mom and dad had fun, too. Daddy helped make Carsten into a mummy and my mom had fun talking to everyone. I played lots of games and even got to bring a bag of candy home, but mom and dad won't let me eat it. I think they are going to sneak it for themselves. I need to catch up on my rest today. Whew!

Polka Dots, Stars and Stickers

Like my outfit? I picked it out myself. I'm standing next to my new sticker chart. The stickers worked so well with the potty-training, mommy is trying to use them so I'll be nice. I'm getting a little tired of always being told what to do, so I have not been listening very well. Now, if I listen or help out without being asked, I'll get a sticker. If I don't listen or be naughty, I'll get one taken away. As you can see, I've broke even so far. I'm still getting used to the idea. I really kind of like time-outs, and mommy doesn't want to spank me, so she's trying everything she can. I wonder if she knows that it is just part of me being 2 and that it won't last forever? I think maybe I'll give her a break today, yesterday was a bad day for both of us! Time for my nap...I'm outtie like my belly button!

Only 52 days till Christmas

Everybody's already asking me, "What do you want for Christmas?". So my mommy helped me put a few ideas HERE. Those are just some things I think are cool. Please no Barbie's or Princess stuff...my mommy is a lame-o and trying to keep me away from that till I am at least 4. I really don't need any clothes yet. I'm such a squirt, I still fit into some stuff from before I turned 2! I won't have lots of suitcase room, so no pop-up castles (that means YOU Aunt Corrie). No pictures today, I'm kinda crabby. Maybe later tonight if I'm feeling camera-happy! ~Katherine

Birthdays and Boos!

Hi. I went to Ben's house for his second birthday party yesterday. It was fun to dress up and eat cake. Halloween and a birthday the same day is pretty cool stuff! He got lots of cool presents and then they all came over for dinner at my house later. My daddy had a holiday off work today, so we went for a fall drive through the mountains and then stopped at the park so I could ride the carousel. I have school tomorrow, so I better get to bed!
