Save the Date

Before I forget, I want to mention that my first Peorian 4th birthday party will be on August 26th, so mark you calendar, call the sitter and put on your party hats! This will be the first year I have TWO parties -- one for my buddies and one for my family. There may be a sno-cone machine rental happening....but mom is now thinking maybe the grown ups would have more fun with that, so she may have to get it twice!

I had a quiet weekend. Dad was home and we spent lots of time together. He had to leave for a quick trip to Chi-town today, but he'll be back tomorrow. I stayed up really late tonight and went with mom to get her hair done. The salon owner has two boys who donate some of their toys to the play area and guess what???? They love dinos as much as me, so I had lots of things to play with and didn't want to leave. Zach had his first time at a friend's house tonight! He did really well and was such a good boy. I have had some problems listening lately. I think the humidity is really doing a number on my brain. Tonight, when mom asked me to get ready for bed I stalled, and stalled and stalled some more. So I lost my dinos :( I was crying really hard about it. I told mom that my pink stegosaurus is just a baby and he can't be alone. I could hear him downstairs crying for me "Kaaaatherine, Kaaaatherine". He was so scared. So mom let me go down and kiss him goodnight. Unfortunately, I still failed to get my jammies on, so I lost my bedtime story as well. Oh well. And then I went out in the road and got my hiney spanked earlier. Kind of a rough day. But I sure learned my lesson and there is nothing I fear more than losing priveleges, so I bet I will straighten up tomorrow. In my defense, it was a busy day. We went to the mall, the salon and then out for dinner...plus I had diarrhea, so that was no fun. I really was scared that the word "di"arrhea means "die", so I was pretty worried until mom explained it is nothing quite so morbid.

What a day. Tomorrow is my art class and nothing else, so hopefully it will be more laid back. Zach doesn't like all the commotion either. He really got upset about being in the carseat today and held his breath! It was scary for all of us! He sure has a short fuse sometimes, but he is such a charmer other times...who does THAT remind you of?

So don't forget about the party in August. I think it will be a Land Before Time party this year. I wanted another dino-party, but mom thought this was a good compromise, and I LOVE the LBT show, so it should be fun. Oh yeah, mom send apologies for the poor-quality video. She tried and tried to fix it, but it won't upload nearly as nice as how she took it. Time to invest in a real video camera and stop depending on our camera.

I better hightail it to bed. Here's a little Zach-action for you.

Love

Shake him, don't Break him

Mom and I had a movie night last night. We stayed up really late and watched Night at the Museum. I wanted to sleep downstairs, but by the time Dad got home, we were all really tired, so we went to bed. Dad had to sit on the runway for a couple hours while the storm blew over, bummer for him -- yahtzee for me since I wanted to stay up and wait for him!

Mom took us to another carnival today. It was fun, but a little lame. I rode a few rides, got my face painted and begged for junky toys. Mom offerred me ice cream but I told her it was too messy...same thing for cotton candy. I guess Mom must be rubbing off on me or I have a 35 year old alter-ego trapped inside of me.

Zach and I had some fun in the basement. Mom watched the video later and kind of thinks maybe things got a little too rough. Oh well, he is taking a NICE nap now and he had lots of fun. I'm sure it is just the beginning of a little sibling rough housing.

Have a great weekend. We're hanging around the house as far as I know.

Who says Sticky is Icky?

Sticky is deeeelicious! As you can see, I had a blast swimming with my pals, Carson and Ashton yesterday. We've been hanging out with them quite a bit this week. I sure miss Dad, but Mom is trying hard to keep me distracted with lots of cool stuff. I loved my dino class yesterday. We were surprised to see so many other kids that knew and loved dinos as much as me! I really "dug" the fossil hunt and we even made a dino tooth to take home! Of course when Daddy travels, there is usually lots of eating out involved (by us AND him), so we fancied the breakfast diner, drive-up car hop, and the tex-mex joint. Ay-yi-yi!

As some of you may know, there is an issue with our homepage. Mom's "tech support" is outta town, so we'll try to resolve the issue soon. If that doesn't work, we'll have to call our favorite Indian techie standing by and see what is up.

So Dad should be back tonight. He is still sick though and the flight is not a fun thing for a sick person. Mom and I still have a movie night to do and she promised me popcorn and strawberry shortcake, so she better follow through. Zach and I have tried to be good for her, but I caught her doing a little stress-baking today, so she may be a bit frazzled. I guess stress-baking is better than other bad habits, and I always love the results!

I better go check on my brother. He is really good and fussing for attention these days. He likes me the best :)

Lates!

King for a Day

Hi there. Hope you had a great weekend. I know I did. We had loads of fun. On Friday, I met a new friend named Jack. We had dinner at his house and he had all sorts of really cool toys. We headed to Monroe that night. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't right for the balloons to go up. I did get to see them light up on the ground, and that was pretty cool! I really didn't like it when we got up close, though. The fire scared me quite a bit. I don't think I'll ride in one anytime soon. I got to spend the whole day with Dad on Sunday. We went to Aunt Corrie's for a cookout, but we had to leave early so we could get home at a decent hour. Dad had to pack his bags for his trip today. I will miss him lots, but I am glad we had a nice weekend together. I got him a really cool card for Father's Day and he wore the crown all morning. It said "King of the Castle". Which means I am the little princess, whoopee!

I have my diggin' for dinos class coming up on Wednesday. I am SO excited about that! Otherwise, it looks to be a pretty routine week until Dad gets home.

Have a great week!

Anchors Away!

Or is it aweigh? Whatever the case, I had a lot of fun riding on the boat this weekend. I was so patient. It took Dad all day Saturday to get the boat "ready". Then on Sunday I had to wait for everyone to get their behinds in gear so we could go! Finally, I got my turn! It was really nice and I hope to spend lots of time on the boat this summer. Maybe I can even ride the innertube with mom or dad. We got back late Sunday and then had playgroup here Monday. Grandma D came back that afternoon to drop the jetskis off down here since they need to be fixed as well!

I had my first art class today. It was really cool and I learned all about mixing colors and painting. Cousin Tara would be proud! We are probably heading to WI for the Balloon Rally this coming weekend and to visit some friends. We have to hurry back though because Dad is flying to S.C. on Monday...bummer! Oh well, we always have special fun when Dad is gone. Mom takes us to different places and is a little more flexible with bed times, wahoo!

Zach is rolling over now and really hamming it up. If you rub his belly and say "pizza pizza" he giggles. He ate mashed potatoes at Grandma's last weekend and he loved them. Come to find out Grandma made them with bacon fat. They were so good I even at them, and I despise potatoes! Oh boy, baby's first trans-fats so soon! Grandma sure makes some tasty grub!

Gotta go wash Mom's truck. Ok, SUV, but Mom calls it a truck because she thinks she's cool.

See you soon!

Great Indeed!

Oh my, what a busy week it has been! It sure went fast. On Thursday, Nana Vicki brought some visitors to my house. I got to meet my Great-Great Aunt Florence and my Great-Great Uncle Don for the very first time. Florence is here from CA and Don lives in Janesville. Great Aunt Cindy also drove here from the Quad Cities. There were a lot of Greats buzzing around, but I thought it was pretty great just having some visitors and playing with them.

I think we are going to the cabin today and maybe I will get to ride on Grandpa's boat.

I hope you have a GREAT weekend.

Who's Up for some Cherryoke?

I was fortunate enough to be born to wonderful parents who will take me to cheesy carnivals with stale popcorn, expensive/unsafe carnie rides, LOUD music, and loads of mullet-heads only to see the smiles and squeals of sheer joy on my face. We visited the Washington Cherry Festival last night and had a hoot of a time. I rode some rides, ate tons of junk food and watched some fireworks. We had to wait for the Cherryoke competition to end before the fireworks started. Talk about American Idol gone bad! We also had some cherry pie and cherry cheesecake. Much like Cheese Days, there was a consistent food-based theme running throughout the evening. Zach was a little freaked out to say the very least. He did NOT like the loud noises and masses of people. Mom had to carry him the whole time, but he finally calmed down and even rode the ferris wheel with Mom and I! He didn't even flinch for the fireworks (go figure) and he ended up having lots of fun.

Today, Mom took us to Lincoln to visit Nicole and her nephew, Justin. Justin is SO much fun and has all these cool battery operated vehicles for us to ride in! I told Mom maybe Nana would get ME one for my birthday (hint, hint)! I had a blast with Justin and hope I get to see him again soon.

Dad is telling me it is time for bed. Hope your having a fab weekend. See you soon!
