Zachary Is Here!!!!

Mom is off today so dad is filling in.

Zachary Miller D was born on January 30th at 1:32 p.m. He is 6 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long. He is in a level 2 nursery under some monitors due to a low blood sugar. He should be join mom in her room this afternoon. Mommy and Baby are doing just great. Since he was in the level 2 with an IV Mom could not nurse but we were able to give him his first bottles.

Katherine was able to see her new baby brother behind some glass. She seemed worried that he was naked and needed clothes. She is very excited to see him. Grandma is taking good care of her.

Well enough text here is some pics

Oh, but you shouldn't have!

I was SO excited to get a little present from some friends at playgroup today. They gave me my own Big Sister basket. It is full of activities and snacks that I can get by myself. Of course, it was completed off with a toy dinosaur. I am so lucky to have such thoughtful friends. I am getting pretty excited for the big day tomorrow. I just know that Nana is taking me to school and sometime during that 2 hours, I will magically transform into a big sister. Nana will take me up to the hospital after school and my duties can officially begin. Baby brother is going to share his birthday with the likes of Dick Cheney and Franklin D Roosevelt. Let's hope he takes more after the latter! I am off to take a snooze and when I wake up, hopefully Nana will be here. Mom and Dad will try to keep everyone posted when they can. How fitting that my 200th blog post is my last as an only child! See you soon!

We Ain't Here to Cause no Trouble...

We're just here to do the SuperBowl Shuffle -- uh huh! What a weekend! Today was pretty exciting/scary/loud/traumatizing around here. Fortunately, the Bears won and dad is very happy. Now what ARE we going to do during the Super Bowl with baby brother in the house? He's not used to all this football commotion like I am. I had a very Monsteriffic weekend. Nana Vicki came on Friday. Saturday, we went to Bloomington to see Monsters on Ice and let me tell you -- you haven't seen anything until you've seen Monsters on ice skates. It blew Elmo out of the water! I had my face painted like a butterfly before the show, too. Later that night, mom and dad went out for dinner by themselves and I hung back here with Nana. We had a good weekend and I think Nana is prepared to run the ship for a few days while mom and dad are at the hospital. Only 8 days to go. Mom has been pretty whiny lately, so maybe that is a good thing. I painted a onesie for Baby Brother today (see pic above). Earlier, Dad and I played in the snow and made a couple mini snowmen. Good thing we did that before he ate an entire package of spicy buffalo wings because he is in some pretty bad shape tonight. I think he may be banished to live outside with the snowmen.

Back to my same ol' routine for one last week before my little life turns upside down. Have a great week and enjoy the snow while we can.

So Obvious Even a Three Year Old Knows

I commented to mom yesterday how there are "so many McDonalds in America" and not that many in France. Maybe it is just because I ride high enough now to see out the windows, but I have a funny feeling it is true. Granted, we were eating there yesterday before a doctor's appointment, so it was fresh on my brain. I just can't believe that they are everywhere! Suprisingly, there are still more public libraries in the US than McDonalds. That's ok with me though...there is nothing I love more than a Chicky Nug Happy Meal. The last I was told, baby brother's new date of arrival is January 30th at 1pm as long as nothing crazy happens between now and then. I hope so because all this is getting me pretty excited! I've been helping out lots like putting his clothes away, building the crib and testing out the swing with my baby dinos. I received a very special book from my friend Addie all about being a big sister. I am counting on her for some sound advice. I made a Valentine for her the other day and hopefully it makes it to France in time. Mom had a special shirt made for me today, I thought it was pretty cool and can't wait to wear it! This weekend, my Nana Vicki is coming to visit. We are going to go see Monsters on Ice and hang out. Mom is going to show her around here before the big day.

Have a great weekend

Hmmm..who wants to be my Valentine?

Still an Only Child...

And that's good news! Mom and Dad peeled me out of bed before 7am to go to the hospital, I sure wasn't too happy about getting up that early, but I survived. I was really good while we waited around and read some books and listened to my headphones. Finally, the doctor came and we got to take a very long look at my brother. His legs are folded up in his face and he was busy playing with his toes. We couldn't see much of his face behind all his arms and legs, but we could see some chubby cheeks poking out. The good news is that things should hold off for at least another week and he will have more time to grow. I am really, really excited to be a big sister, but I want to make sure I have a healthy brother to play with. I also really do NOT want to be at the hospital when he comes out (I prefer to be with my Nana Vicki), so I was glad he didn't have to come out today. I am happy to come visit, but I made sure to tell mom that I will come AFTER he comes out. I guess mom should not have let me watch part of that birth story on TV, nice move mom! I better get back to helping dad put the swing together. Have a good week and stay warm. I have some Valentine projects to start this week.

She's Gonna Blow!

For everyone that wondered early on if mom was "big enough", she's making up for it now -- as her shadow clearly doesn't lie! We hope that's a little baby human in there and not a little baby elephant! We got to take a peek at baby bro yesterday and they guess him to be around 5# 13 oz. And he had some hair that could be seen on the sono as well. I liked watching him hiccup! Looks like I may be a big sister sooner than we planned. Nothing is for sure yet, but he could be here as soon as next Tuesday! Unfortunately, mom may not be able to carry him much longer, so if his lungs are mature enough, he may come out next week at 36 weeks along. Mom has to get some more tests done first. We're ready for him, we just want him to be ready for us! Mom and Dad just have a few more things to get ready. My cousins are coming this weekend for a wrestling tournament, so I am excited to see them. I am having a really great time back at school and doing just fine.

Ciao for now

Keeping a Low Profile

As you can see, I've had to take on some new shades to try and get some privacy around here. It isn't easy being the cutest girl in town...those paps are always trying to snap my picture!

I had a pretty mellow weekend. We went to Bloomington to see Dad's friend who was in the hospital. Coincidentally, they are the same family that lived in France with us, so I was thrilled to spend time with the 3 girls and have lunch with them. Other than that, it was pretty tame. We all went out to find some new fixtures for the basement bathroom that is coming along. I had playgroup this morning, but I'll have to miss gymnastics this week because of mom's doctor appointment. We will get to take another peek at baby bro and see how he is doing. Mom's been picking up stuff here and there for him and his crib was *almost* done, but the movers lost a part, so we had to order it.

My cousins will be here this weekend. My oldest cousin, has a wrestling match here in town. I sure hope it stays this nice out, although a little snow would be pretty too!

Have a good week

Happy New Year!

I hope your New Year started off well. I had a fun little New Years Eve. We went to our neighbors house and I even stayed up to watch the ball drop in New York. The next day, we filled out my new calendar and planned out the month of January-- which there is really not a whole lot going on in January! I will start back to school Thursday and have gymnastics tomorrow. Dad went back to work today, it was sad to see him go. I had so much fun playing with him and it was nice to have him around for so long. I guess someone has to make sure I have ample supplies of dinosaur funds and mac n cheese around here! I think today mom and I are going to de-decorate the house, which will be sad, but it is definitely time. The contractors are working hard on our basement and I hope it will be done soon so I can put all my toys down there - my playroom is getting crowded! We found out last week that Baby Brother will be coming in early February. It was supposed to be Feb 2nd, but the hospital OR is full that day, so it will now be February 5th as long as things don't change -- which they may! We'll get to have another ultrasound next week and see how big he is getting. I better go chow some breakfast! Hopefully mom will have some pics of me with my new toys up soon.
