Movie Time

Mom finally uploaded a couple of videos off the camcorder today. Check out my bike riding skillz. Like I how I lean to the left to balance myself? Thought you would. I can pull some tricks like no one's business.

The second one is a little duet Zach and I did yesterday. I did a pretty good job concentrating with Zach right next to me. Speaking of the piano, my recital will be June 12th. Mom will make sure to record it. No one is obligated to drive 3 hours for something that will likely last 3 minutes :)

Big Happenings for a Little Girl

So there have been some pretty big things going on around here lately. More like grown up things. Is it possible to grow up overnight? Mom thinks so.

On Saturday, I went to the Father Daughter Dance and might I say, I looked quite stunning for a gal of only 6 years. Dad and I had a blast. No pics of us together yet, our camera was being silly that night, but Mom was able to snap one of me and someone at the dance sent us a few of my friends. On Sunday, I lost tooth #3. The tooth fairy brought me a new, Presidential Gold Dollar. On Monday, our new piano was delivered. I was elated to come home and see it in our living room. We're still not quite sure where it is going to live in our house, but after hearing the movers grumble about moving it, we're going to leave it put for awhile. Here's a tip...if you ever get a free piano, it is worth every single cent to have it moved for you! I love it and it is nice to practice whenever the mood hits me without having Mom clear off the kitchen table, drag out the keyboard and prop the books up on an old box! Dad isn't quite sold on it yet, but it will grow on him. Next step is to find a matching bench and give it a good tune up! I asked why the keys were a bit yellow and Mom explained that anything 74 years old is a bit yellow and out of tune.

Got a cool field trip to the zoo tomorrow and then Dad's birthday on Thursday. Should be a fun week!

DinoPalooza

It was a very special day this week when Mom let me line up all of my dinos...plastic and plush for a photo. The local paper is offering a coloring contest for tickets to go see Walking with the Dinosaurs. I went to see this show a couple of years ago, so we weren't planning on buying tickets. My old Kindergarten teacher brought in the coloring page for me, so I spent an hour, doing my very best work. Mom thought if she included a photo to show the judges how much I LOVE dinosaurs, it couldn't hurt my odds. The only problem now is that I'm absolutely fixated on winning and I'll probably be very sad if I don't get to go. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

We were lucky to have some absolutely gorgeous weather this week. Mom and Zach have been walking up to school to pick me up every day, which I love, but Zach hates. He hates being woken up to get thrown in a stroller for the half-mile trek. So it probably won't last much longer. I had a dentist appt earlier this week and Zach even had a turn to sit in the chair. He proudly showed the dentist his teeth and sat very still. We were very proud of him.

I have a Wizard of Oz birthday party to go to later today and then the Father Daughter dance at school tonight. Mom is taking me shopping in a bit to pick out a fancy dress. It's going to be a great weekend! I just may need a nap though because Zach and I had a little sleepover last night in his room and he woke me up SO early!

Hope yours is awesome, too!

I Can See Clearly Now...

After 2 years, I finally got some new frames yesterday. My old ones were just fine, but the eye doctor convinced Mom to get me another pair, since I am officially so blind I really should never have to go without. My eye exam was not pretty....I went from -200 to -325 in 7 short months. But at least the problem is fixed for now and I can see better. Check out the bling on the sides of my frames. Mom wasn't crazy about this pair, but we reached a compromise. She wanted wire frames and I wanted the thick plastic kind with rainbow patterns. Good compromise indeed -- Mom got the wire frames around the lenses and I got the snazzy plastic bows with flowers and pizazz. Zach was saying how he didn't need glasses. I asked him if anything was fuzzy. He said "yeah, caterpillars". Pretty cute.

I had a fabulous spring break. We went to the zoo, storytime, shopping and I had 2 playdates. We spent loads of time outside. Our neighbors got a trampoline and we have full bouncing-rights so we've been bouncing like crazy. Mom is the self-proclaimed queen of butt-bombs and can bomb us so hard that Zach and I fall over. It's great.

The new garden is tilled so we're excited to start planting in a few weeks. Sounds like Grandpa is all ready for farming season, too. Spring is so great! All of our trees and landscaping survived the winter, our fall bulbs are blooming and we even have a bit of a farmer-tan. If this week was any sort of indicator how summer break is going to be, I'd say we're in for a fun 3 months!

A Much needed Spring Break

I am SO ready for Spring Break. I need a week just to relax, play and enjoy the outdoors. I'm in the middle of a spring cold that I hope will go away soon! I had a fun Easter weekend, but I'm pooped! We started off the long weekend with a trip to Nana's house on Thursday. After school got out, she took Zach and I home with her until Saturday. We had so much fun at the park, playing outside and doing lots of things that are exclusive to Nana's house. Mom and Dad enjoyed the time alone by going hiking and going out to eat at lots of places that are not kid-friendly! On Saturday, they picked us up and went to see Grandma D at the hospital. She had BOTH of her knees fixed and she's doing ok, but she's probably going to have to go stay somewhere for a week or so to help her get better. We got home late Saturday evening and quickly colored Easter Eggs and went to bed.

Easter Sunday was nice and relaxing. We found our eggs and baskets. I made the comment that since the Easter Bunny didn't give us many toys, it was a good thing that Nana gave us plenty of stuff. Geesh, the Easter Bunny is getting Santa-like pressure nowdays. Mom made a big lunch just for the 4 of us. We all took a long Sunday nap and then played outside, all in between copious amounts of candy eating, of course. Today we're off to the zoo, then storytime later this week, some letterboxing and then we'll probably go visit Grandma again sometime. Mom has lots of yard work to do and needs to find someone to get the garden ready.

Hope you had a Hoppy Easter and are having fun!
