Adventures of a Toddler....Part Deux

Hey all

We are finally back for good...woohoo! The flight went great, I was super good as usual while mommy was impatient as usual. Our last days in France went fast and furiously as we hurried to sell our car, clean up the house and pass the home inspection. All went well and despite the "Dent du France" in our car, we were able to unload it very cheaply. I am at Nana Vicki's now having lots of fun. I got to see my cousins today so that was very exciting as well. Daddy is heading to the house to mow our lawn (we are just happy the grass grew!). Mom and I will head down Sunday night. Our rental furniture arrives Monday and so does our storage crate of stuff we left here in the States. We are driving a rental car and our old Grand Prix for now...hopefully mom will find a new car next week sometime. I have lots of plans for the next few weeks like getting a swingset, going to the zoo, checking out the dinosaur egg exhibit at the museum and seeing more of my family. It is really great to be back and although I will miss my friends in France, I am sure I will make some more.

Next order of business is renaming this blog. Any ideas? Adventures of a Toddler in the States just doesn't sound too exciting and mom can't think of anything else cool.

Ciao for now

You can find me by the pool...

Hi,

I can't post any pics right now, but just a note to say hi. I love the pool at the hotel and am having fun playing with my friends now and then. Our shipment got sent off on Tuesday and our house is being cleaned and inspected. Unfortunately, our parked car got hit by a garbage truck on Tuesday (with me and mom in it), so that will affect us being able to sell it. It was a shame we made it 2.5 yrs without an accident and then got hit! At least we were safe! So it has been a busy and exciting week. Hopefully we can get everything finished up this weekend and then be ready to take off next Wednesday. See you all very SOON!!!

Packin' up Chez Moi....Headin' to Chez TonTon

One more day till the movers come! Mom and Dad have been busy getting ready and I've been very good at entertaining myself. We (Mom) decided to name the new house "Chez TonTon" after this cool plaque we found down South. I had a fun weekend. I got to play with Addie twice and swim a lot as well. The hotel will also have a pool and air-conditioning, so we are looking forward to keeping cool for a change. Here are a few pics from the past few days. Have a good weekend. Oh yeah, I almost forgot! This past week, my Nana Vicki and Cousin Tara were nice enough to go paint our new house. Tara painted an AWESOME mural on my bedroom wall...it is so cool! I can't wait to get back and see it, it has monuments from all the famous places I have visited.

Ciao!

Who Knew a Snowman could Poo?

Just when you thought you've seen it all....

Today mom and I were shopping one last time to stock up on all the "unique" things here. It is the bi-annual sales here, so there were lots of good deals, including this fun little snowman for only one euro! He is called the Poo-Pooing snowman or "Bonhomme de Neige Suprise"! Put the candy "snowballs" in his head, push down and....oops! Frosty has an accident! I was thoroughly amused by this and I'm sure it will bring us years of Christmas fun. Note the fine print

"Due to the irregular shape of the sweets, from time to time you may find the toy becomes blocked and you will need to empty the sweets and remove the odd sized sweet. We hope this does not stop you from enjoying this product".

Stop my enjoyment? Heck no! What is more fun than helping Frosty with his intestinal blockage issues? Do they make enemas for snowmen?

Just when you think the fun here is over, it comes back to surprise you. Mom doesn't let me play with guns, watch junk TV or video games, but she buys me a pooping snowman anyday!

Step 3)
"Poops the snowball sweets out of his bottom"

Uh oh...think we got a lodged one!

Holy Enchiladas!

Hey everyone. Yesterday was a busy day. I hosted my last playgroup at our house. Here I am making cupcakes for everyone. We hope to get to a few more playgroups while in the hotel, but we are not sure. The movers come Monday and then we go to the hotel for 10 days, wow! Mom had her going away dinner last night. I thought it was pretty silly she chose a Mexican restaurant in France, but oh well! I'm sure we will eat at lots of French restaurants in the weeks to come. Mark your calenders, my birthday party will be on August 26th at the Twining Park Shelter House in Monroe. We won't have any of our stuff in our house yet, so we have to have it there. It will be a dinosaur party and mom will send out invitations later. I am SO excited to have a T-Rex birthday cake! I am starting to get excited about the move...I sure know what is going on and I think I'm a little sad about it too. I told mommy yesterday that the Baby Dinosaurs don't want to move to the new house....but I think they will make new friends and be OK. My whole little life has been here in France, so it will be hard to say goodbye. I am very excited to be close to my family though.

Have a good Wednesday!

Book 'em Dano

The plane tickets, that is. They are FINALLY booked! We fly back July 26th, hooray! The good thing about booking so late is that coach was full so we got to move up a class. Mommy says after 14 or so trans-atlantic trips with a baby, she deserves to be upgraded. We are starting to do a lot of things for the last time....today we sold Daddy's car and said goodbye to the Clio. Afterwards, we went to the park in Vizille (The Castle Park) for the last time and had fun. Mom is contemplating getting to Paris one last time, but time is tight. We only have one more week left in the house before we go to hotel-land! Oh boy!

Hope you are having a great weekend

Move 'em on, head 'em up, head 'em up, move 'em out...

......Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!

That's about how it feels around here, kinda like herdin' cattle, if I knew what that felt like. Things are getting hairy, that's for sure. Mom is usually seen with her hands filling a tote and Dad is usually running around somewhere complaining about France and trying to keep it together. NOT that we're complaining or anything, it is a welcome transition! We'll be down to one car this weekend, so that could be a little tricky.

I've just been staying pretty chill and keeping in a pretty normal routine. School is good and I only have three school days left, quel dommage!

Remember the Italy jersey dress from about 5 posts back? Well, mom wanted me to wear it today, but we were afraid we may not make it out of France alive. FYI-- France vs Italy in the World Cup this weekend. Viva Italia! Daddy is rooting for France, but for some reason Mom is NOT. She doesn't like smug French people. She's actually not too crazy about any French people right now. Although give her a couple months, I'm sure she'll be disgusted by Americans and longing for her simple European life. That mommy is a silly one.

Have a good week and weekend. Hope your fourth was good. We don't "do" the fourth here, so we kinda forgot about it. We'll be around for French Independence Day next week, that should be a hoot.

Lates,
Katherine
