Cue the Final Countdown Music

12 days to go, not that we're counting :) Things are chugging right along for us. I was done with school back on the 31st. Mom has major guilt that we're going to spend the end of June and most of July cooped up in the house, so she's been trying her hardest to get us out and do stuff. Despite the heat and her declining energy levels, we've got a few things checked of the list in just a week. Unfortunately, going to garage sales and doctor's appts was on that list, but we survived thanks to the iPods. So far we've done the water slide like a berzillion times, gone to the sprinkler park, had a playdate or two, gone to the library 3 times, trip to the park, the slip n slide, mural paintings in the garage, and this weekend we'll have an outdoor movie night. She feels like she better document all these things to prove she really did try to make summer fun. One more week of activities and then we'll take it easy for awhile.

We've been busy also tying up a few loose ends around the house before baby comes. Just when Mom thinks she's ready, she'll think of something else to purchase, usually on craigslist. You can see Zach likes the highchair quite a bit. He had fun climbing in and screaming for someone to change his poopy diaper. Mom discovered giving us the camera and telling us to go away is good entertainment for at least an hour.

I had two softball games this week. Both went really well! I had a few hits, crossed home plate a few times and got really good at grounding balls. I had a pop fly hit me in the chest, but I sat out for one batter and then got right back in it. Zach started a little basketball/soccer camp also this week and had fun with his buddy, Tyce.

The last day of school was great although a little sad, time to go to the middle school next year! I received a perfect attendance award and got a treat from Mom. Swimming lessons are done for now, but hopefully I can start back up in July when it warms up outdoors. I'm still taking a hiatus from piano until softball is done. Zach and I are actually getting along really well for the most part. It kind of depends on his mood and sometimes, I just really want some alone time and he doesn't understand that. Mom has to keep hollering at me to get my nose out of a book and go play. I've already read 6 chapter books since break started! Mom and I are going to start Harry Potter sometime this summer, as soon as she finishes what she is reading right now, which may take awhile :)
