Out of Town!

Hi, just a note that I am spending a few days in Sterling with my family and cousins. I won't be able to post any pics for awhile, maybe not even until after Christmas. I am having fun, but I do have a cold (again!). I hope everyone has a very safe and Merry Christmas!

Hairy Question

Hi Everyone,
Here I am at Nana Vicki's house, I didn't want to smile today. I had a great flight. I slept and watched movies. Mom and dad were very proud of me. I am having lots of fun here. Grandma bought me a new dollhouse to play with. I got to visit a few people this weekend and get caught up on rest. My daddy went to the Bears game last night....he was frozen! He had fun. I get to see Grandma D on Wednesday. I am starting to get a little sick, I sure hope it goes away soon. I am really looking forward to Christmas. See you soon! Katherine

Here is a question to ponder on Monday.....

What Shall I Do With My Hair????
Grow it all out...bangs and all
Give it another trim
Shave it
Perm it
Mullet it
Grow out the sides, but keep the bangs
Mohawk

Coming to America

HI! Do you think I'd fit in the suitcase? I've been helping mommy pack and clean. Would you believe after this trip I will have flown over 45,000 miles in my two years?? That doesn't count the time I was in my mommy's belly either. I am VERY excited to come home, even if we have to get up at 3:30 tomorrow morning. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate. I am looking forward to flying on the plane. I have some new activity books to do and some movies to watch. See you all very, very soon! ~Katherine

Adventures in a Desert?

Hi there. Don't worry, it is not ME that's having adventures in a desert, I prefer to have my adventures in deSSerts, like apple pie. Here are some of my uncle Adam. He is doing fine and keeping safe. These were taken in Kuwait, he is on his way to Iraq later this week.

Adventures in Grenoble

Hey. I had a fun time in Grenoble today. Daddy took the day off and we went downtown to get some chocolates. We had lunch and I got a hot dog and ice cream, wow! Later, we went to the Christmas markets and bought some junk we really don't need. Mommy and Daddy tried some hot wine and got all warmed up. Mommy bought a Santa hat for us, but one of the braids fell off.I'm pretty good at saying Merry Christmas. See you soon! ~katherine

Adventures in Babysitting

Hi. I had a really fun weekend. I got to help take care of a real baby! Her name is baby Lucy. We talked about her all day, so I was ready when she came over. She is five months old and pretty darn cute for a baby! I tried to hold her and showed her some of my old toys. It is hard to believe I was that small when we moved here. I let mom and dad hold her, too. She didn't cry much and she was pretty nice. Maybe someday I'll get a baby brother or sister of my own...but not just yet! I like being the only kid around here for now. Later, we went to Addie's house to watch football and play. Addie has a baby at her house, too! His name is Adam and he is only one month old. I call him baby Elmo. Just like I call uncle Adam "Uncle Elmo". Addie and I had fun playing at drawing. It is the last time I will see her until January. I will miss her, but she is going home too, so she will have a fun Christmas with her family just like me. Have a happy Monday! ~Katherine

Holding the baby, she's heavy!

Adventures at a Mall

I decided it is time this blog start living up to it's name and showing some adventures! Hopefully the next week will be full of me out and about...weather pending. I know you could NEVER get sick of seeing photos of me at home, but let's not forget about the France part! Today we went to the mall, mommy needed some new pants. She didn't find them, but we still had fun. I really wanted to get one of those giant, inflatable snowmen for our front yard, but we won't be here to enjoy it for much longer. We have a good system worked out. I get a croissant to eat while she shops; I usually give her about an hour. Then I know if I am good, I get to ride the car/rocket ride when we are all done. I understood that really well and today was great for both me and mommy. No crying fits or climbing out of the stroller. The mall was really busy, but I guess everyone is buying their gifts. I've been talking more about Santa lately, wonder what he's all about??? ~Au Revoir! Katherine

Groovy Graffiti

I had fun this morning decorating the windows with spray foam. It was a major mess on the floors, but very neat. I have never heard of this stuff back home. Could this finally be something from France I'll have to bring back with me? The stencils that came with it were really neat. Mommy tried to freehand a few designs and they didn't look as nice. It snowed a lot today, so it was nice to stay inside and do some art. Mommy is going to start packing soon. I keep asking if we can go to Nana Icky's house, but mommy says next week. I don't really know how long next week is, but I sure hope it gets here soon! I am excited to ride on the plane and see Grandma's tree. And of course to see all my family. We look at pictures of everyone almost everyday!

Frosty the Non-Stop Singing Snowman

Hi! Here I am with my new buddy, Frosty. He sings the Frosty Song over, and over and over. Better yet, he sings in English, but they didn't quite translate the lyrics right at the Frosty-Manufacturing shop here in France. He says, "With a corn-cob pipe and a button coat and two eyes made I don't know". I couldn't make this up if I tried... I guess maybe "eyes made out of coal" was too difficult to translate? Anywho, I don't care, I still love him just the same. He dances and sings really loud. It is a virtual Frosty's Rockin' Eve everyday here. I can also sing Jingle Bells very well. The other picture is me with my buddies Gabi and Ben. They were here last Saturday night for fondue. We stayed up late watching cartoons. It is getting too quiet in here, time to go turn on Frosty. He even has a motion-activated mode so all I have to do is walk by him and he sings, hooray! In other news, I think my mommy is locked in her room again with a bottle of wine. ~Katherine

No! Not the Purple Gumdrops!

Hi. Today mommy and I tried to make gingerbread people. Trouble is that we couldn't find molasses here, so we used maple syrup instead. They were not very tasty. Well, I thought they were good, but you really can't go wrong with syrup....I'd eat it on spaghetti if I could. Also, mommy doesn't have a big cookie cutter for the gingerpeople, so they were gingerbread dwarfs (is that PC?). The decorating part was kind of lame until I figured out that the paint is actually watered down sugar! Wow, was that a great surprise! Forget the decorating, I want the frosting. I started sucking it from the syringes we used (yeah, we don't have a cake decorator either, so we use old medicine syringes. Safe, huh?). I also licked all of the cookies so that way no one else will eat them later. I walked circles around the living room table for a very long time after that frosting. Not sure if it was the sugar or the leftover cough syrup in the medicine syringes. Mommy was on the phone with nana Vicki and I ate about three cookies. Mommy doesn't let me have sweets very often, so you can imagine the effect it had on me. It's 10pm and I'm still chattering! I also had fun decorating the windows and singing Christmas songs. Two more weeks and I'll be back, yay! ~Katherine
