Spiderman Goes to School

Seems like just yesterday, Mom was taking me to my first day of preschool. I still remember my Dora backpack and how excited I was that the preschool teachers would speak English instead of French. Mom remembers me crying hysterically the first day and then NOT wanting to go for several times after! Well, today was Zach's turn. If you went back six months ago, it would hardly seem possible that Zach would be ready for preschool. Six months ago he was not toilet-trained, still very shy and probably couldn't bear the thought of being separated from Mom for 2 hours. He sure has grown up a lot since then! He's been talking about school since I started last month. Every day he kept asking if it was his turn. Finally, when the big day came, he seemed to have a hard time grasping this was the real-deal until we actually walked him in the building. He did great. He ran right in, found his cubby, washed his hands and found his little carpet square. Mom and Dad gave him a quick hug goodbye and he never looked back. He said his first day was great. They did some coloring, painting, singing, playing outside and of course, the snack was a big hit. He said there's a little girl in his class named Olivia and she's so "cute"! The hardest part about yesterday was making him understand he has to wait 2 days to go back. We're all so happy things went well. Mom's a little sad about the whole thing, but she's too proud of him to get swept up in that just yet.

So good job little Buddy! You are going to have a great year!
