Slacker Blogger
I guess our life is just so normal lately that we don't bother to post often, because really, does it even get read? But Mom reminds herself that she needs to keep this up to have as a memory some day. The blog sure does come in handy when we try to remember what we did for a certain Holiday one year? Which year was it that I learned to pump on the swings? When exactly did we find out Zach was going to be a boy? So we'll keep typing even if we're just humoring ourselves ;)
We really need to start by summing up November! After our trip to Fargo, mom and I had a lock-in at a local church for my Brownie Troop. Mom was a little ( a lot) skeptical about being there for nearly 20 hours with 60 other people! It all went really well though and was so well organized and lots of fun. We did crafts, sang songs, played games and ate very well. Sleeping in a room with 12 other people is not fun, but we had naps the next day and spruced up.
Then came Thanksgiving which was very quiet this year. Just Nana and Papa came. No turkeys were injected and deep fried, just the traditional fare. We did exactly what we were supposed to do...ate too much and laid around for hours on end. It was nice to have it relaxed this year, although we missed Tara terribly. Mom got up at 3:30 the next morning for her first Black Friday experience with Erica. She got a few good deals and was just purely AMAZED at the amount of people out at 4 in the morning! They got back around 8:30, Mom says it all feels like a dream that never happened...until she saw the bill, that is! We topped off the Thanksgiving weekend with our traditional visit to the Festival of Lights parade. The one dad loves SO much. We grabbed a pizza, waited in the car for an hour in our prime spot and saw the pretty floats go by. We capped off the night by decorating the tree. Dad did a splendid job on the outdoor lights once again this year. Mom and Dad were supposed to go to a Bears game last week but were able to weasel out of the super-expensive tickets and get a refund due to the time change. Mom's online impulsiveness got the best of her and she about blew a mortgage (ok not really) in stupid tickets! Turned out to be an amazing game though!
School is still going well for me. Mom is so grateful that things go smoothly for me both academically and socially. Zach and her keep busy with trips to the library, playgroups, shopping and the gym. He still loves preschool and they still love him :) He had a special treat this week when Grandma and Grandpa came down to take him to the Farm Expo. Mom was happy to sit this year out after the past two years of agricultural excitement.
So there's things in a nutshell. The next month will surely fly by. We've started baking, finished decorating and started wrapping. The snow is falling today as we wrote our letters to Santa and baked. Now if we can just keep Fluffy (who's a boy, by the way, boo), out of the tree, we'll be in great shape.
Ta ta for now,
Katherine

First snow of the year, looks like Dad won't be able to get on the roof and fix those lights yet!
